Job Description Summary

This role is for an High Pressure Turbine (HPT) Systems Module Leader supporting the GE90 & GP programs. The HPT Systems Module Leader will report directly to the GE90/GP Systems Module Subsection Manager and collaborates horizontally with the HPT Lifecycle Engineering, HPT Field & Maintenance Repair Overhaul, Product Support Engineering, Program, Manufacturing, Thermal System Dynamics, Production Technologies, Controlled Title Holder(s), and Systems Engineering Peers.

The Systems Module Leader will be responsible for setting priorities, defining requirements, and leading the individual contributors to ensure alignment with program objectives, customer needs, and systems leadership directives. All projects should make use of SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Cost) and Flight Deck principles.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to empower leadership to manage program risk and make informed strategic decisions for the business.
  • Manage projects to optimize resource allocation and meet business objectives.
  • Recognize when the team is facing execution challenges and provide necessary resources, technical guidance, or support to help them get back on track.
  • Champion standard work. This includes both utilization and continuous improvement.
  • Introduces LEAN & Flight Deck process and tools to eliminate waste and optimize execution of assigned tasks and fosters an environment of continuous environment.
  • Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, and/or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, candor, and proactive planning & execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in design engineering
