Job Description

Reporting to the Commercial Engine Services MRO Part Repair FLIGHT DECK Leader, this role will serve as a coach, facilitator, and advocate to the repair team in the deployment of all FLIGHT DECK fundamentals, and associated leadership behaviors. This will be accomplished through:

  • Partnering with all members of the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul organization, as well as value stream customers and suppliers, to prioritize and solve problems that lead to total customer satisfaction.
  • Leading and supporting the implementation of all FLIGHT DECK fundaments within the repair organization and partnering with all services sites to drive standardization and best practices, and support / lead administrative and transactional activities as needed.
  • Coach and develop team members at all levels of the organization to help them build lean skills / competencies.
  • Delivering step-change performance through the implementation of robust value stream analysis, kaizen / continuous improvement and other initiatives necessary to drive impact to assure KPI's / benefits are realized. Includes MOR and action plan coaching.
  • Working with colleagues to quickly deploy new, best-practice capability and processes within the repair organization. Develop standards to assure best known way is leveraged across the network.
  • Embrace Lean, digital tools, AI, and rigorous prioritization to drive continuous improvement and increase employee and customer satisfaction.
  • Support the repair organization to grow and develop FLIGHT DECK competencies leading to self-sufficiency.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and of 5 years' experience applying Lean in a global, matrix organization.

Desired Characteristics:

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing / Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul and experience in lean application desired.
  • Lean practitioner, capable of facilitating Problem Solving, Value Stream Analysis & Kaizen Events and coaching FLIGHT DECK fundamentals such as 5S, Daily Management, Structured Problem Solving, and Standard Work. Continuous improvement experience in both transactional and repair operations environments.
  • Proven ability to achieve results using the Lean toolset.
  • Experience facilitating 5-day Kaizen events, including preparation, coaching stakeholders in framing the problem statement, facilitating the session to identify opportunities and drive decision-making, assigning ownership, and managing follow-up to assure sustainment.
  • Proven to be effective driving outcomes in large, matrixed organizations - able to influence without direct authority.
  • Change agent and able to make the case for lean and demonstrate immediate impact. Experience with Change Management and how to drive adoption and develop maturity..
  • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn.
  • Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively.
  • Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed.
