Job Description Summary

The Executive Supplier Recovery Leader will be responsible for leading the Supplier Recovery organization, focused on structured problem solving, continuous improvement activities, and improving overall supplier performance.

In this role, you will build strategy and an organization accountable for problem solving with our top suppliers. You will lead supplier recovery processes, ensure issues are effectively resolved, and improve ongoing SQDC performance. This leader will engage enterprise problem solving for top system root causes to drive supplier success.

The Executive Supplier Recovery Leader will activate FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace's proprietary lean operating model, by serving as a FLIGHT DECK coach as the organization leads through driving supplier recovery activities.

This role will require 50%+ travel to be at Genba at the supplier locations as needed.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities: As the Executive Supplier Recovery Leader, key responsibilities will include:

  • Represent GE Aerospace with external suppliers; build and use these relationships to deliver results to meet customer expectations
  • Earn authority within the network of suppliers, GE Aerospace experts, and in project teams
  • Develop & implement a comprehensive supplier performance strategy aligned with the business needs.
  • Monitor supplier performance against established KPIs & problem solve to unlock constraints.
  • Assess supplier capabilities, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing development plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product lines, quality assurance, and procurement, to drive supplier development projects to support supplier process optimization, quality improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Develop THE WAY WE WORK with our suppliers, focused on systemic problem solving.
  • Operationalize FLIGHT DECK across the supplier network. Leverage Supplier Quality & Delivery partnership plan structure to proactively support continuous improvement of supplier performance.
  • Act as master coach to build an organization of lean practitioners within Sourcing.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in materials, production planning, or business management.

Desired Characteristics

  • Excellent coaching and listening skills
  • Experience with supplier management & development
  • Supplier relationship & negotiations experience, including ability to influence at the peer level and C-level of organizations (both at supplier level and at GE Aerospace level, ie, SALT)
  • Extensive experience in FLIGHT DECK/ Lean deployment with demonstrated results; ability to coach on use of action planning to execute, structured problem solving when gaps to results exist and implementation and leading of daily management to drive problem solving and accountability
  • Experience as an operating leader who has driven results via a Lean Business System, prioritizing SQDC
  • Experience navigating global workforce considerations at manufacturing sites
  • Track record of embedding a lean business system to solve complex challenges and advance business strategies; can assess key business metrics and situations from a senior leader perspective and leverages lean to drive improvement.
  • Large organizational/team leadership experience; Track record of success in developing and attracting talent.
  • Horizontal collaboration/integration with functional partners to deliver lean goals across business.
  • Proven ability to integrate matrix activities to deliver customer and business outcomes and impact
