Role Summary/Purpose:

The Engineering/Manufacturing Inspector's primary duty is to ensure both electronic and mechanical components for engineering and pre-production avionics products meet our stringent quality standards and their design requirements. This role is critical in maintaining the safety and reliability of our aerospace products. Within our development team you will partner with engineering and production support teams to ensure new product's readiness for volume manufacture.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed inspections of electronic and mechanical components and assemblies using various tools and equipment.
  • Verify that products meet specifications, drawings, and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality regulations and standards.
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate records.
  • Identify and report non-conformances and work with multiple quality, engineering, and production teams to resolve issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inspection procedures and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings.

Qualifications/Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in electronics or mechanical inspection preferred.

Ability to successfully complete and maintain IPC-A-610 certification.

Must be able to pass a skills test.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronics and mechanical inspection, preferably in the aerospace industry.

  • Willingness to train other Quality Assurance Specialist employees and cross train when needed.
  • Knowledge of IPC 610 & J-STD soldering specifications.
  • Familiar with Electric Static Discharge precautions.
  • Strong understanding of electronic and mechanical systems and components.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers or micrometers.
  • Ability to work under a microscope for extended periods of time.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and regulations, such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and PDF Viewers.
  • Ability to work overtime (OT).
