Role Overview:
Product Safety Engineering is a specialized discipline within the Systems engineering domain that is focused on ensuring the safety of our products throughout their full lifecycle (i.e. R&D, new product development, and in-service operations). The Engineer - Product Safety will learn and apply industry best practices to identify potential hazards and assess risks for a number of different programs across GE Aerospace's Electrical Power and Avionics teams. The role will also include support for investigations of potential safety concerns with fielded products.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work with experienced Safety Engineers on the team to execute safety program plans for a variety of civil and military development programs, performing safety analyses to identify hazards and assess probability of hazard occurrence in accordance with industry standards
- Continuously develop expertise in the Product Safety domain through assignments and mentoring with experienced Safety Engineers on the team
- Work with cross-functional engineering teams to define appropriate safety features into the product
- Support investigations into potential safety concerns with fielded products to ensure that our products are meeting customer and regulatory expectations for safety performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an engineering role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in engineering within the aerospace industry
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to successfully facilitate multiple efforts or projects to meet project deliverables
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated competency in using standard business software and tools
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
