Job Description

Position Summary: The Executive Manufacturing Engineering & Technology Leader is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies and processes. This role involves leading a team of engineers to drive innovation, improve manufacturing efficiency, and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality. This role will model the leadership of cross collaboration across multiple cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for manufacturing technology and innovation.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technologists.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with business goals.
  • Co-ownership of MBE/MBM Strategy and deployment

Technology Development:

  • Identify and evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Ensure the integration of advanced technologies into existing manufacturing systems, inclusive of industrial artificial intelligence.

Manufacturing Readiness Level:

  • Assess the current Manufacturing Readiness Levels of various processes and systems.
  • Develop and implement plans to advance manufacturing processes to higher readiness levels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and production, to ensure manufacturing processes are aligned with product requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential issues in the manufacturing process.

Process Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Implement FLIGHT DECK lean manufacturing principles and best practices.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
  • Optimize production workflow to improve cycle time and optimize utilization of equipment and resources.

Project & Cost Management:

  • Develop and manage departmental budget ensuring cost effective use of resources.
  • Identify funding opportunities to support the goals of the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Manage multiple technology development projects simultaneously.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and external partners as needed.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety and quality within the manufacturing team.

Innovation and Research:

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in manufacturing technology.
  • Collaborate with research institutions and industry partners to drive innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing engineering and technology leadership roles.
  • Experience leading technical and functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies and processes.
  • Proven track record of leading successful technology development and implementation projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex challenges.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Must be US citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
