Job Description Summary

We are seeking an experienced developer to join our MBE/PLM team, to help develop new capabilities that will transform how GE Aerospace designs and builds our next generation aircraft engines. In this role, you will be responsible for design, development, test, implementation, and supporting of NX/Teamcenter based applications, configuration, customization and services, that enable a Model Based Enterprise and create a true Digital Thread flow of information.

This role does require a hybrid schedule on site in Cincinnati, Ohio or Detroit, MI.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Architect and design sound/supportable technical solutions to complex business requirements.
  • Evaluate requests for enhancements and determine potential impacts with the current system design/configuration.
  • Code complex/integrated customizations and/or solutions.
  • Provide support and maintenance of existing customizations and application functionality.
  • Triage/debug production issues (Data, Code, Performance, Security, etc.), identify root cause and corrective actions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to assess their business needs and recommend IT solutions.
  • Develop new Pages/Reports/Interfaces.
  • Develop new application enhancements.
  • Write technical specifications.
  • Document system changes.
  • Provide on-call support.
  • Review technical designs to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Train/Mentor less experienced resources.
  • Develop Teamcenter system integrations.
  • Perform PLM data analysis.
  • Evaluate Teamcenter software (e.g., conduct Beta testing).
  • Develop automated test scripts.

Required Qualifications

  • Engineering Master's degree from accredited university or college, Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 2 years of professional experience OR Associate's degree with minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
  • Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future this job.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience Siemens Teamcenter Quality module.
  • Knowledge of Quality function and business process, and characteristics management.
  • Knowledge of the QIF (Quality Information Framework) framework, standard, and applications.
  • Familiar in C/C++/C# programming and Teamcenter server-side development (Teamcenter ITK SOA), BMIDE, Java, HTML, XML, Webservices, REST framework and/or Active Workspace (AWC) configuration and declarative programming.
  • Use of UFUNC and NX-Open APIs for development of custom CAD applications, with focus on architecting reusable code components with good knowledge of .NET & MFC.
  • Good knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. CGI, Perl, Python).
  • Knowledge of JSON and XML.
  • Good hands on exposure working with IDE (Visual Studio, Eclipse).
  • Knowledge of Model Based Enterprise and Quality concepts.
  • Basic understanding of Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) configuration and customization.
  • Understanding of SCRUM process and AGILE way of working.
  • Knowledge of SDLC processes and test driven development.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle database technologies, SQL, Spotfire and other visualization tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand new concepts and analyze system deficiencies
  • Passionate about security and the quality of the applications they support.
  • Eager to learn, shares ideas, encourages and accepts feedback well.
  • Strong analytical skills - strong problem solving skills, communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve.

  • Participates in change initiatives by implementing new directions and providing appropriate information and feedback.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Gathers and analyzes data, develop design for the requirements at project level, aligning design requirements with software development strategy.
  • Reviews exceptions and makes recommendations to the standards at a domain level.
  • Collaborates with project management on reporting project status, issues, risks and benefits.
