Job Description

The Engineer position is an individual contributor engineer reporting to sub-section manager in Integrated Manufacturing Engineering team.
As a hardware owner you will own all engineering functions related to combustors and structures for GE-make hardware.

In this role, you will be on the front lines of a new organization that is dedicated to improving the producibility, enhancing the Engineering-Supply chain relationship, and using SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) to improve the health of the supply chain and product to enable the business to fulfil our customers' expectations.

Examples of specific tasks you will be responsible for are: producibility design changes, on-going manufacturing support, and strategic improvements across combustors and structures components.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects, with guidance from senior engineering resources, using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.


  • Be open for interaction and exposure to engineers from multiple disciplines, manufacturing & quality, and regularly exposed to commodity and industry experts all while promoting open and honest dialogue.


  • Be open for frequent travel to manufacturing sites to gain practical knowledge of manufacturing.


  • Support the engineering analysis and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles to improve manufacturability and technical robustness of assigned components.


  • Use engineering judgement and experience to challenge entrenched processes and methodology to recommend improvements.


  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of engineering & manufacturing, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute on technically complex projects to meet technical requirements and business goals under mentorship of senior engineers.


  • Lead technical projects with low to moderate complexity through collaboration with field and industry experts.


  • Provide support to repair development, producibility improvements, hardware delivery and vendor qualifications.
