Job Description Summary

As the Defense &Systems (D&S) DT Engineering Operations Leader you will be responsible for building, inspiring, and leading the D&S DT Engineering Operations team, and will report to the D&S DT Engineering pillar leader. You will be responsible for leading a team that supports and manages many critical engineering applications including Cloud infrastructure (AWS). You will build and run a world-class DT Engineering Operations organization, providing outstanding and efficient operational support to our Engineering customers as we move towards a DevOps environment.

Job Description

In this role you will:

  • Lead DT Operational strategy for Engineering tools, with influence both internally and externally to DT.
  • Apply understanding of the business impact and criticality of the tools developed and supported by the team and help shape the development pipeline from an operational perspective.
  • Learn the technologies used by the team, and act as the technical leader and hands-on member of the operations team.
  • Hire and retain talent for supporting the DT Engineering operations team.
  • Lead with the understanding of the strength that diversity brings resulting from a team with varied experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives.
  • Connect, inspire, and build loyalty and commitment through inclusion.
  • Grow talent depth and breadth in alignment with organizational needs.
  • Apply knowledge of management, technical expertise, software development methodologies, best practices, and proven processes to lead a small team of software develops.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 6 years of professional experience OR associate degree with minimum of 9 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 11 years of professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in software operations, IT operations, systems engineering or other relevant fields.
  • Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

The base pay range for this position is $127,900- $213,200. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on September 8, 2024.

  • Experience with IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) and related tools.
  • Experience with GitHub.
  • Significant operational support experience and/or software development experience.
  • Leadership experience in an Operational role.
  • Experience and understanding with AWS, and DevOps is desirable.
