Job Description Summary
The Data Visualization Specialist is responsible for conducting analysis of large data sets and applying geographic information science (GIS) to identify trends, patterns, and insights for the Global Security Operations Center. In this role, you will focus on building an enhanced security awareness through spatial analysis, data management, and cartographic production to support threat analysis and strategic decisions for GE Aerospace.
In this role, you will conduct spatial analysis using geospatial tools, methodologies, spatial-temporal data, and imagery to create storyboards, databases, maps, dashboards, and GIS layers to visualize and communicate complex data insights. You will work in a production-oriented environment with multiple teams within the GSOC, fusing operational, open source, and commercial data to identify and defend against current and emerging threats.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Conduct spatial analysis to support security, global intelligence, and counterintelligence projects.
- Identify data sets and develop GIS layers to support threat analysis, risk assessments, and complete special projects as required.
- Gather, research, critically analyze, and evaluate information and large data sets from varied sources to identify trends and vulnerabilities.
- Interpret data from multiple sources to undertake spatial data manipulation and analysis.
- Proactively formulate hypotheses; collect and analyze appropriate data; validate hypotheses; and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Exhibit proficiency with Microsoft 365 Apps, geospatial, and data analysis tools.
- Complete multiple tasks and projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
- Collaborate with employees across business units to facilitate discussions and solicit different perspectives.
- Build a network of USG professionals and relevant industry peers to enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration opportunities.
- Follow relevant policies and standard work associated with threat analysis and risk assessments.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in GIS, Geography, Data Analysis, Computer Science or equivalent; and at least two years of experience in the US Government 0132 job series.
- Proven experience in data analysis, preferably within an operational or tactical environment.
- Proficiency with ESRI's ArcGIS software suite; familiarity with data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Present a professional demeanor and demonstrates excellent speaking, writing, and organizational skills.
- Capable of engaging with all levels of the organization and work independently and as part of a team with minimal daily supervision.
- Able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Security Clearance.
- Proven experience in data analysis, preferably within an operational or tactical environment.
- Occasional Travel (up to 20%) is required for this position, both domestically and internationally.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
