Job Description Summary
GE Aerospace is seeking a Data Configuration Engineer for the Test Systems Engineering (TSE) Team. The DCE will keep turbofan and turboshaft engines running during 2nd shift operation by configuring and supporting test facility data acquisition systems. The ideal candidate has a solid technical background, experience with data acquisition software/hardware, and knowledge of analog and digital signal processing.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 / Level 2 support for aircraft engine test facility data acquisition and control systems
- Communicate with senior engineering resources to resolve data system issues
- Set up engine test facility data acquisition systems
- Develop data acquisition configuration files used for development and production engine tests
- Document best practices and user guides for data acquisition tools
- Execute system upgrades and maintenance
- Collaborate with stakeholders in and outside of the TSE team on data acquisition requirements definition and resolution of open issues
- Give input to test readiness and tollgate reviews in preparation for development engine tests
- Drive initiatives to minimize risk of failures at test through data monitoring tools used by the test operators

Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
Desired Characteristics
- Experience with data acquisition systems in aircraft engine test facilities
- Ability to learn multiple customized data acquisition systems and understand the interactions between systems
- Experience with programming language such as Python, SQL, and XML
- Experience with documentation control such as Tortoise SVN
- Electrical troubleshooting experience
- PLC/HMI programming experience
- Understanding of gas-turbine engine operation
- Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong problem-solving skills
