Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering a collaborative and accountable environment.
- Empower team members through coaching, mentorship, and providing opportunities for professional development.
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
Project Management and Planning:
- Manage the full project lifecycle, from conception and planning to execution and delivery.
- Break down complex projects into manageable tasks and create clear action plans with defined milestones.
- Delegate tasks effectively, track progress, and adjust plans as needed to ensure timely completion.
Strategic Alignment and Execution:
- Partner with stakeholders to understand project priorities and translate them into actionable roadmaps for the team.
- Drive team focus towards achieving project goals across all metrics, including safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
- Monitor and analyze project performance, identify and mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate project goals, priorities, and expectations clearly to the team and stakeholders.
- Facilitate effective communication within the team and foster collaboration to achieve shared objectives.
- Regularly report project progress to stakeholders and address any concerns promptly.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends relevant to the engineering domain.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of engineering best practices within the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/ GED with at least 10 years of manufacturing experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of polymer matrix composites experience
Desired Characteristic:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or a related field) preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as an engineer with a strong understanding of the relevant engineering principles and technologies
- Minimum of 4 years of experience leading and managing engineering teams
- Experience with specific engineering tools, technologies, or methodologies relevant to Polymer Matrix Composites manufacturing.
