Job Description Summary

Join our team as a Custom Logic Engineer and play a pivotal role in the design and development of cutting-edge products that leverage FPGAs as integral computing elements. In this role, you won't use FPGA for developing the product; the FPGA is part of our products; you'll be embedding your expertise within it. You will be responsible for crafting precise hardware descriptions and, equally important, validating our devices to ensure top-notch performance and reliability, adhering to the rigorous DO-254 standards.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading large Custom Logic projects, designing and developing devices for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
  • Application and improvement of best practices and skills in developments, as well integrating with other developers.
  • Uses judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a mentor for colleagues with less experience. Ability to lead projects with certain risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Wide experience with FPGA development and hardware design languages
  • Wide experience with verification methods and testbench development such as VHDL directed tests, SystemVerilog, and UVM
  • Experience with high density custom logic designs, FPGA, System on Chip technologies
  • Experience with contemporary data transfer/communication standards: A664, PCIe, PCI, TSN, 10/100/1000-BaseT

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience requirements-based designs, high-reliability, safe-by-design, design/development methods, DO-254 is a plus
  • Experience with aviation data transfer/communication standards: MIL-STD-1553
  • Work in variety of development team sizes
  • Independent, clear-thinking, problem solving
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
