A key member of the GE Aerospace Communications Team, the D&S Communications Leader will be responsible for developing and executing strategic, 360-degree communications plans to advance the goals of the Defense & Systems business and its leadership team.
Job Description
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide strategic communications counsel to the Defense and Systems CEO and executive team, driving a contemporary approach to communications.
- Promote GE Aerospace's reputation by developing and executing 360-degree strategic communications plans, including through earned, owned and paid channels.
- Protect GE Aerospace's reputation through proactive engagements and crisis preparedness planning.
- Partner on global sales campaigns and issues that are important to the business working in close partnership with global public affairs and D&S leadership team.
- Collaborate across the Corporate Affairs team and other key internal stakeholders, including Investor Relations and legal, to maximize reach and impact for Defense & Systems messaging.
- Develop and deploy FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace's lean operating model, to reduce waste and deliver results for our customers.
- Lead and develop a team of three aligned communicators, including internal communications to connect employees across multiple sites to the business' strategy through clear and consistent messaging; and media relations, including defense trade media engagement and strategy and support for Defense and Systems trade shows.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
- A minimum of 10 years of experience developing strategic, 360-degree communications plans
- A minimum of 10 years of experience coaching and developing a communications team
- A minimum of 10 years of experience with crisis communications and issues management

The base pay range for this position is $200,000-300,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 4/4/2025.
