Job Description Summary

Lead projects/process improvement to execute lean strategy of the 2000-person organization. Partner in overcoming business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, and services. Stay informed of industry trends that may influence work.

Job Description

  • Drive lean deployment at a global level including methods, tools, and transformation plans, manage improvement projects including process improvement, revamp-up or capacity changes, etc.
  • Requires specialized depth and breadth of expertise within their discipline. Requires strong business awareness and is expected to influence the development of strategy within own area, resources, and policy formulation.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view, especially with a represented workforce.
  • Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality, and timeliness of objectives. Work is subject to functional policy objectives. Regularly advises management in the function and/or in the business. High levels of evaluative judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and can construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field from an accredited college or university
  • 5 years of experience in driving manufacturing process improvement
  • Relocation only offered to candidates willing to move to Evendale, OH, Terre Haute, IN, or Lynn, MA.

Desired Characteristics and Experience

  • Master's degree preferred
  • This position will be supporting the following locations: Evendale, OH; Terre Haute, IN; and Lynn, MA.
  • 15+ years of extensive lean manufacturing experience within a plant and operational managerial experience from a production / manufacturing setting
  • Hands-on experience with implementing change projects
  • An instinct for impact and a taste for stretched targets
  • Well-developed analytical skills
  • Strong communicative skills and ability to operate at multiple organizational levels
  • Deep understanding of lean and related areas (six sigma, TPM, TPS)
  • Solid business acumen with substantial leadership experience
