Job Description Summary

The Services Engineering Certification Process Leader provides strategic and technical process leadership within GE Engine Programs. Specifically, the Certification Process Leader develops, plans, and executes certification project plans and manages the activity around certification artifacts.

Job Description

  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • Leadership, mentoring and oversight of certification processes across all GE engine programs with a goal to certify Major Type Design Changes (MTDC) with quality and on time.
  • Monitor health of overall MTDC process and metrics, lead continuous improvement actions plans, problem solve issues and institute standard work.
  • Take project ownership of critical major type design change programs within GE Engine Services Engineering department.
  • Partner with the Airworthiness and Certification (A&C) Office to ensure the successful operation of processes resulting in regulatory compliance and on time execution.
  • Ensure a rigorous process is followed in the development and execution of all GE Engine certification projects with clear milestones, operating rhythms, and integration with the A&C Office.
  • Partner with GE Engine product lines to define certification strategy of MTDC projects.
  • Ensures certification test integration, as needed
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering

Desired Characteristics

  • Minimum of 8 years technical leadership experience
  • Minimum of 2 years Airframe design experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
