Calibration technician is responsible for ensuring that various types of equipment and instruments are functioning accurately and within specified tolerances. The key responsibilities include but not limited to; manage calibration activities with the suppliers and maintain a wide range of measurement and testing equipment used in production and maintenance of propeller. The calibration technician ensures the accuracy and reliability of measurements, which is essential for quality control and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Calibration: Manage and maintain calibration of a wide range of measurement and testing equipment such as dimensional measurement, pressure gauges, thermometers, scales, torque wrenches, ovens, test rigs etc.

Department Interaction: Schedule workload and track equipment due for calibration by generating reports from the system to ensure production and maintenance continuity by avoiding any overdue calibration.

Calibration Performance: Interact with the approved suppliers to schedule calibration for both portable and immovable equipment either prepare for shipping or arrange on-site calibration.

Calibration Register: Ensure that the calibration master register/tracker is up to date and the equipment is traceable within the system.

Records: Review and store records of calibration activities, including test results and calibration certificates.

Quality Assurance: Analyse and interpret calibration test result data and ensure that calibrated equipment meets accuracy and precision requirements and contribute to quality control processes.

Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose instrument malfunction and make judgement if require repair or replacement before sending to suppliers.

Safety: Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines when handling equipment and hazardous materials.

Qualifications and skills

Technical Knowledge: Good knowledge of measurement principles and calibration techniques. Familiarity with various measuring instruments and their applications.

Attention to Detail: A high level of precision and attention to detail is essential to ensure accurate calibrations.

Analytical Skills: The ability to troubleshoot and diagnose instrument issues is important.

Communication: Good communication skills verbal and written for interacting with colleagues, suppliers and auditors.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computer software for data entry, analysis, and reporting.

Adaptability: The ability to work with a variety of equipment and adapt to changing calibration procedures and standards.
