The Business Unit Leader will perform the daily operations of the plant to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality, and timeliness of objectives. The role is subject to operating policy objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.
Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manages an operation, business unit, or part of a production facility to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery, and safety. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards.
- Guides, coaches, and develops salaried front-line leaders and hourly employees.
- Serves as a best practice/quality resource; develops specialized knowledge in their discipline. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.
- Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how their departments integrate with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
- Uses judgement to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing technology or engineering. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Partners cross-functionally with internal and external resources to assist in decision-making.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues, leading by example and extending knowledge/expertise to aid in their development and growth. Leads small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information in a meaningful way, working to build consensus, developing persuasion skills required to influence others on business topics within field.

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations/manufacturing.
