Job Description Summary

The Business Quality Leader (BQL) will report to the Hooksett Site Quality Leader and will lead a team of Quality engineers in either Plant 1 or Plant 2. The BQL will work to meet business requirements for quality assurance and control of aviation hardware. Manage cross functional coordination across business units, engineering, and programs teams. Facilitate and manage interactions with military and commercial customer and regulators. Drive continuous improvement of the quality processes and policies and mentoring of all employees to those processes. Maintain a strong focus on delivery of quality products on time to customers. This role requires strong foundation in machining, manufacturing, and inspection technologies.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control. Includes quality assurance of products, services, manufacturing processes. Includes conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.
  • Manages a small to medium team of lead professionals as well as others. Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Serve as an engineering and technical mentor for colleagues with less experience. May lead large projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explain difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Develop persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
  • Develop relationships and work with key customers.
  • Ability to prioritize to meet needs of business and achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Leads investigation for Quality Escapes and ensures robust corrective and preventative actions.
  • Review and approve First Article Inspection and CID implementation.
  • Owns Operator Verification Plan and develops periodic training to mitigate deficiencies.
  • Drives Measurement System Analysis activities as a part of the Quality Management System
  • Leads analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.
  • Works together with Rutland team across all levels of the organization.
  • Flexibility in schedule to work any / varied shifts to meet the needs of the business.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years Quality & Quality Management experience) + minimum of 5 years Quality & Quality Management
