Our Multi-modal Manufacturing Facility (MMF) in Pune plays a crucial role in manufacturing key aerospace components, supporting not only India's defense and commercial sectors but also global aviation supply chains. Our relationships with Indian suppliers, combined with our world-class local facilities and global reach, continue to shape India's aerospace ecosystem.

Role Overview:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for upkeeping, availability of Fixtures, Gauges and Press Dies required in shop operations.
  • Participate in design reviews, manufacturing review and conduct prove out and validation trials.
  • Identify innovative solutions in Tools & Fixtures, to support running a safe and productive manufacturing activity.
  • Work with CFT team in proving Tool maintenance & tool manufacturing process.
  • Guide operating teams effectively & address complex technical challenges, bolstering culture of problem solving.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.
  • Aerospace tooling experience in Detail part & assembly, Sheet metal.
  • Detail part tool design/Maintenance: milling fixtures, Turning, Fabrication etc.
  • Sheet metal tool design/maintenance: Forming, Bending, die design, Laser cutting fixtures etc.
  • Inspection Tools-Plain plug gauges, Flatness gauge, Perpendicular gauges, etc
  • Assembly Tools-Welding fixtures, Bush pressing & Assembly tools, Checking fixtures.
  • Good knowledge about aerospace assembly process, production process, manufacturing capabilities
  • Good knowledge of GD& T in detail part & assembly
  • Knowledge of Lean methodology, 3M, Poka yoke & waste technique
  • Knowledge about Engineering drawing specification, interoperation

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this role should have a strong background in aerospace tooling, with expertise in the repair and maintenance of jigs, fixtures, sheet metal, assembly tools, and checking gauges. They should be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings. Additionally, the candidate should be detail-oriented, accountable for the quality of their work, and capable of working under direct supervision within a well-defined operational framework. Regular maintenance and calibration of tools to ensure their proper functioning and quality are essential aspects of this role.

Required Qualifications:

  • Assistant engineer - Diploma in mechanical with Specialization in Tool design, Diploma in Tool & Die making, with 4 to 8 Years Experience
  • Post diploma in Tool Design (PGDTD) will be added advantage.
  • Experience on aerospace tool Design Assembly tools, Detail part & Sheet metal parts
  • Good Knowledge of Aerospace requirements, handling aerospace manufacturing Process, AS9100, quality documents, APQP requirements.
  • High level of drawings/schematics/standards understanding
  • Proficiency in, Unigraphics-Nx, Auto-Cad, Lean & MS Office
