Job Description Summary

At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Business, we've been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.

Within the Program Management and Customer Support Organization, as system ASM (Avio Supporto Motore) Specialist you will be located at Customer's military base.
This role requires permanent presence at Customer's premises with the primary task of providing direct support on technical and logistic aspects and you will be the reference person and the direct interface between Avio Aero and Customer.

  • Ensure effective and timely exchange of ASM engine technical and systems information between AvioAero and Customer operational departments
  • Coordinate the handling of critical and/or urgent engine data file between Company and different operating bases
  • Provide support to the Customer during the CDS (Configuration Data Set) loading operational phases
  • Manage the ASM engine configuration and in-service support (reporting, data analysis, data management, modification changes)
  • Identify data mismatch between Company and Customer support systems for analysis and correction
  • Collect and manage the ASM system in-service issues and evaluate suitable way-forward
  • Support in evaluating Technical Instructions issued by Industry and the preparation of Technical Orders/National Instruction in accordance with National Rules
  • Plan for massive ASM engine data characteristics/information update
  • Support in evaluating ASM systems upgrade/modification and Acceptance Test

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a high school diploma (technical preferred) with previous solid experience in similar role
  • General knowledge of aero engines, modules, accessories and MRO environment
  • Knowledge of configuration control rules, processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of engine Logbook for consultation and engine lifing and parts data
  • Capability of reporting on technical issues
  • Understanding and ability in consulting Nomenclature Catalogues, engine Technical Publications, regulations and applicable procedures (maintenance manuals, parts catalog, calibration procedures)
  • Ability to read and understand Change Proposal, Technical disposition
  • Strong Customer mindset
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Italian and English
  • Eligible for NATO Security Clearance
  • Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of the military national regulations (AER. xx.xx)
  • Knowledge of airworthiness / flight safety regulations and compliance
  • Knowledge of engine performance, vibration, engine systems
  • Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of bespoke IT systems & tools (SiLEF, SAP, etc)
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Leading initiatives of moderate scope and impact
