Job Description Summary

The Additive Process Simulation Engineer will develop state-of-art DMLM process simulation methodologies and perform build process analysis for aerospace components. Additive process simulations are focused on producibility, optimization of component geometry and printing process.

Numerical tools for additive manufacturing are in dynamic development and require significant advancements in functionality and prediction accuracy. Team mission is to improve part quality, reduce costs and time required to establish printing processes, by providing production-level simulation software to predict build distortion, residual stress and risk of cracking.

You will be a part of larger team involved in development, validation, implementation, and improvement of additive analysis methodologies and tools. In this role you will cooperate with global and multidisciplinary team to solve problems and advance additive simulations techniques.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, execute and post-process simulations of additive builds for production aerospace components.
  • Research, test and validate usage various numerical algorithms, methods and tools.
  • Interface with a cross functional team to enhance additive simulation techniques.
  • Grow along development and optimization type of projects with focus on additive build simulation.
  • Participate in creating and auditing best practices for additive process simulation.
  • Collect and interpret data and document results.
  • Effectively communicate project outcomes to technical community.
  • Support projects intended to run, test, and improve additive processes.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or other related disciplines (Mechanical Design, Mechatronics, Materials etc.).
  • Practical knowledge and experience in FEM simulation (thermal, mechanical).
  • Good track record of completed projects.
  • Good communication in verbal and written English.
  • Solid presentation skills, with the ability to communicate at technical review level.
  • Additive Manufacturing technology related knowledge is a plus.
  • Project management skills is a plus.
  • Programming skills is a plus.
