About the Role
Gap Inc. is seeking a skilled IT Infrastructure Manager to provide support and stability to our IT environments across North America. This role involves managing complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure projects, as well as supporting campus technical support issues and ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of building construction and design, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities
- Develop delivery and execution plans for power delivery from grid utility and alternate power solutions to meet capacity demand.
- Design and create layouts of IT infrastructure including facilities structure, cabinets, overhead ladders and raceways, structured cabling, aisles (hot & cold), cabinets, mechanical, electrical, servers, storage, and networking equipment.
- Support in design risk evaluation, risk management, and budget control throughout the product life cycle.
- Manage change control and cost approval processes with external and internal partners in line with established procedures.
- Manage proposal reviews, contract awards, and process contract documents through established processes.
- Monitor and track proposals and contract schedules and generate weekly progress reports.
- Support contract negotiation, including the establishment of all General Contract terms including mark-ups, fees, insurance, labor rates, escalation, etc.
- Provide/gather cost estimates working with contractors and other vendors for scope gaps and changes.
- Ensure QA/QC process is being followed and report any issues/gaps.
- Assist in the coordination and management of all owner-direct vendors.
- Support evaluation of product readiness for substations and travel to meetings as required.
- Perform capacity planning and resource allocation to ensure the scalability and efficiency of our IT environment.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of IT infrastructure components to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and business requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect IT assets and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and migrations with minimal impact on ongoing operations.
- Document configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in IT technologies and best practices, recommending and implementing improvements as necessary.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience with knowledge in Energy/Power Substation delivery.
- 5+ years experience in the Power and Energy sector and/or mission critical facilities.
- Experience with high and medium voltage electrical systems.
- Knowledge of construction means and methods.
- Experience and general knowledge of cross-discipline teams: structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, architectural.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure architecture along with the minimum design requirements for network, compute and storage racks as well as layer 2/3 and virtualization platforms.
- Proven experience as a colocation, inside plant, or telecommunications facilities engineer or similar role in a large-scale IT environment.
- Solid understanding of physical design standards and IT security best practices in IT environments.
- Strong understanding of public cloud infrastructure as well as cloud-native applications, preferably with demonstrable experience in helping scale the overall global footprint of a geographically diverse production network.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Knowledge of HVAC and mechanical principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective technical communication.
- Able to work independently with minimal oversight for extended periods.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to stay focused on multiple projects throughout various development phases.
- Self-motivated with the ability to analyze and resolve issues promptly.
- Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency in writing reports, creating documents and presentations, and delivering presentations to large audiences.
- Must be flexible to travel to site/vendor facilities as needed.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, VCP, Autodesk Certified Professional) would be a plus.

Salary Range: $134,700 - $178,400 USD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
