About the Role
As a Sr Director at Gap Inc, you will be responsible for leading design strategy and managing both internal and outsourced teams in delivering key initiatives for store design and brand experience. You bring creative solutions through design expertise, brand knowledge, retail design knowledge balanced with Gap Inc. business strategies and financial goals.
This is a dynamic leadership role responsible for design innovation, creative process, decision-making brand experience, cross-functional collaboration and strategy, executive and stakeholder engagement, achieving consensus.
What You'll Do
Prototype Design
- Develop new store design concepts, guide proof of concept to test & evolve
- Have a global point of view on each brand's store design approach (new initiatives, new design concepts and remodels) acting as steward of each brand's store environments ensuring solutions provided are brand appropriate
- Provide store design solutions that merges brand and enterprise's goals and strategies
- Pro-actively maintain a pulse with industry innovation in retail experience and design to support Gap Inc's goals for innovation
- Liaison of the brands to external creative partners (architects, interior designers)
- Lead the preparation of design briefs and crafting creative process
- Manage, scope and assist internal business partners and external consultants in adherence to brand codes, established project budget and timeline
- Build strong internal cross-functional partnerships, alignment and consensus
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, seeking new ways to enhance performance of the internal and external teams
- Drive and manage organizational changes, ensuring smooth transitions and positive outcomes
- Cultivate design culture within the team, the department, brand partners and the overall organization
- Entrepreneurial spirit to create and swiftly manifest strategic approach into successful follow through
- Demonstrates strong leadership, interpersonal management, and organizational competencies
- Ability to generate design concepts as well as guide the design process. Excellent understanding of proportion and ability to translate ideas, forms, and functions into strong design ideas
- Understanding of materials, fabrication, construction and its relevance in developing forward thinking architecture, interior design, and fixture design
- Excellent ability to understand and translate 3-dimensional space concepts into conceptual drawings and lead design decisions through documentation, fabrication and construction.
- Strong capabilities in design leadership and art direction for store design visualization and usage for both internal development and executive level presentation
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suites, Bluebeam and understanding application of creative visual tools (SketchUp, Rhino, 3D Studio Max, Ai, rapid 3D visualization)
- Ability to assess complex situations and analyze data to make informed judgments and prepare thoughtful, recommend solutions

Salary Range: $202,700 - $278,800 USD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
