In this role you will be a key partner to influence our product design strategy with our Franchise partner .You will work with cross functional team members,both internally and externally, who are collectively responsible for ensuring that the product style, fit, and quality are in keeping with our brand standards and are more than worth the price for our customers. Your goal is to influence the design process from market research and concept, to product design and final styling for your assigned product categories.
What You'll Do
  • Research global and local markets in order to identify new seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, techniques, product categories and competitive inspiration.
  • Effectively act as liaison between brand and local design partner to ensure brand integrity while meeting the nuanced needs of the Indian market
  • Identify and communicate multi-season trends, silhouettes, fabrics, techniques, product categories and competitive inspiration.
  • Influence strategy for product area, providing recommendations regarding seasonal themes and edits to line, ensuring product meets business and customer needs.
  • Partner with Production and Tech Design ensuring execution, quality, and desired margin targets are achieved.
  • Influence concepts and sketches for product line and advocate for design ideas by presenting to internal leadership and cross functional partners. Applies color, pattern & print to the line with an understanding of color theory and seasonal direction.
  • Effectively engages Cross Functional Partners to resolve roadblocks and barriers to Product execution.
  • Partners with local Production teams to ensure that final line designs meet aesthetic standards and financial targets.
  • Designs with the customer in mind, ensuring product provides a positive experience for intended customer segments.
  • Build cross functional partnerships and consensus, identifying sketch callouts and communicating desired fit and aesthetic to cross functional team.
  • Support all Key development calendar including strategic kickoff, creative kickoff, digital line review, global adoption, investment reviews, and omni customer experience.
  • Participate in projects and assignments of diverse scope.
Who You Are
  • Previous experience in international apparel businesses
  • 3-5 years experience in a design roles
  • Strong interpersonal skills, works well as a part of a cross-functional team and can influence and interact at all levels of the organization
  • Strong oral, written and formal presentation skills including the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way.
  • Ability to travel internationally on a frequent basis (predominantly to USA but may also include travel to Europe and Asia)
  • Flexibility to work across multiple time zones
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment, with the ability to juggle multiple seasons at one time and track development deadlines
  • Possess an elevated sense of style, aesthetic, and color and understand how to translate trends through the lens of the customer and brand filter
  • Thorough knowledge of silhouette, fit, fabrication, construction, color use, sewing techniques, and trim
  • Strong computer knowledge including Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to assess relatively complex situations and analyze data to make judgments and recommend solutions
