University of Wisconsin-Madison Sports Reporter

Milwaukee, WI

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is seeking an audience-focused and digitally savvy reporter to complete our two-person team covering University of Wisconsin-Madison sports, including the highly successful football and men's basketball teams, championship-level programs in women's volleyball, men's and women's hockey, and women's basketball.

For this Madison-based role, we are looking for a creative and forward-thinking journalist who can reach- and help us grow - our audience on multiple platforms. Thus, video is an important aspect of the job. So is being adept on social media platforms, from engaging with followers to creating relevant content that stands out in the crowd.

Of course, the successful candidate will be able to react quickly to breaking news and recognize trending opportunities. They will have a vision for balancing daily beat and game coverage with enterprise stories. And they will have a collaborative spirit-- able to work well with our second reporter on this beat, the sports staff, our entire newsroom team and others in the nationwide USA TODAY Network.
