The Building Supervisor collaborates with the Facility Manager in the day-to-day supervisory duties and operations of the building to consistently execute efficient operations to maintain, diagnose & repair facility infrastructure equipment and systems, as described below.

General

Work as part of a crew during a designated shift to achieve and maintain on-time production performance including product quality and accuracy standards, operational safety including OSHA and EPA compliance.

Provide hands-on supervision of the following maintenance functions:

  • Equipment performance audits, maintenance, and repair as well as new installations of Plant HVAC, plumbing, mechanical & electrical systems
  • Housekeeping and grounds-keeping
  • Fleet vehicle services as applicable
  • Positive employee, contractor, vendor, and customer relations
  • Assist with building asset management including stable inventories: equipment, supplies, spare parts...etc.
  • Daily timecard approval

Safety

Always work in a safe manner and consistently utilize required safety equipment to promote top-of-mind safety awareness:

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Assist in leading safety compliance within the department including accident investigations and follow up.
  • Complete required annual OSHA safety training programs: Lockout/Tag-out, Hazardous Communications, Personal Protective Equipment, Hearing Conservation, Blood Borne Pathogens, Forklift.
  • Reports work related injuries to insurance carrier.
  • Ensure all machine safety-guards are installed, functioning properly, and in use.
  • Immediately report any operational concerns, potential safety hazards and all accidents/injuries and near misses to facilities management.

Communication

  • Provide timely & accurate reports and information to the local operations team management.
  • Immediately notify Facilities Manager of any potential hard-down equipment failures or serious equipment damage

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certified facility management training required (vocational school, military, trade) or comparable experience

Experience Required or Preferred:

  • Minimum two years related experience in production/manufacturing facility infrastructure maintenance, diagnostics & repair

Specialized Knowledge Required or Preferred

  • HVAC maintenance & repair experience required
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance & repair experience preferred
  • Equipment and facility electrical system experience preferred

Universal Skills and Traits:

  • English language fluency: Speaking, reading & writing
  • Proven leadership skills required.
  • Proven above average verbal & written communication skills
  • Proven excellent time management skills working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Mechanical aptitude required.

Technology/Equipment Expertise or Proficiency:

  • Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office
  • Proficient ability with hand and power tools
  • Welding (some)
  • Plumbing
  • Multi-meter
