The Daytona Beach News-Journal, part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, is seeking a talented, digitally-focused, forward-thinking editor to serve Daytona Beach specifically and the state of Florida at large as a part of the newly reorganized sports structure in the state. Aside from growing audience, the editor will be responsible for shepherding the news organization's coverage of a very competitive high school sports scene, outdoors and, of course, NASCAR, for which Daytona is home to the premier stock-car racing event.
The ideal candidate will guide our established beat writers and columnists with solid editing and headline writing and work with our award-winning photography staff. In all, the best person for the job will use their sharp journalistic edge to draw readers to news-journal.com and engage a national audience.
