Gannett Publishing Services is seeking a Recruiting Coordinator to identify and acquire independent contract carriers for the newspapers.

This person will be the point of contact for local sites and own the process from advertising the position on various job boards until the prospect signs a contract. The position offers a flexible work schedule of 20-29 hours a week.

This will include communication with the sites, designing and placing advertising and conducting interviews.

Expectations:

Work with sites to maintain accurate route profiles of open and targeted delivery routes that need contractor candidates.

Tasks:

  • Possess or develop proficiency in Social-Media to generate applicants.
  • Determine best practices for advertising messages and advertising vehicles and keep effective ad placement running for all assigned sites with a need for contractors.
  • Identify other contractor recruitment techniques such as yard signs, flyers etc. and work with local sites to run programs where additional effort is needed to fill routes.
  • Track applicant responses by solicitation type to help us identify the effectiveness of different advertising approaches.
  • Directly contact prospective contractors and/or collaborate with a team of reps who will contact prospective contractors. Utilize the route profiles to explain what kind of route is available and utilize effective screening questions to vet prospective contractors and identify candidates to pass on to the sites.
  • Send applicants that pass the screening to the local site for their follow up with the candidate. Ensure the local site provides feedback / end result on every candidate forwarded and maintain / update a database of candidate results by site.
  • Follow up with a subset of applicants sent to sites to assess whether our communication about route delivery was effective so that we can adjust our approach as needed.

Communications:

Provide timely and accurate information to management as required.

  • Responsible for communication regularly regarding status of open routes in region, routes filled and strategy to fill.

Education:
High School Diploma. Demonstrated ability to manage data and communicate effectively.

Experience Required:
One year recruitment experience preferred.

Technology:
PC Skills including Microsoft Office: E-mail, Excel, Word, Social Media proficiency.
