We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sponsorship Sales Specialist to join our USA TODAY Events Expo business. This role will be primarily focused on securing sponsorships for our iconic events, including the Central Ohio Home & Garden Show in Columbus and the Milwaukee Sports Show. As a key member of our sales team, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our events by identifying and securing potential sponsors, developing strong relationships with partners, and ensuring that our events are well-supported and financially successful.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and industries, providing them with tailored sponsorship solutions to meet their needs. You will be expected to stay up-to-date with industry trends and market conditions, using this knowledge to inform your sales strategies and approaches. This role requires a self-starter who is comfortable working towards targets and is fantastic at engaging with potential sponsors. Your ability to identify and bring in potential sponsors will be key to the success of our events series.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and secure potential sponsors for our events, including the Central Ohio Home & Garden Show and the Milwaukee Sports Show.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential sponsors and partners.
  • Create and present tailored sponsorship proposals to potential sponsors.
  • Work towards sales targets and achieve set goals.
  • Act as a self-starter, taking initiative to drive sponsorship sales and meet objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and market conditions to inform sales strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sponsorship sales, preferably in the events or exhibitions industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Comfortable working towards targets and deadlines.
  • Ability to identify and engage potential sponsors and partners.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $43,000and $65,000. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable.
