Associate Manager, Account Management - Sales Ops

Remote

The Associate Manager is still focused on providing a high level of service to clients through account management on key accounts, while being elevated to work much more closely with Client Services management team. They will also be a dedicated mentor to other Regional team members, through training and collaboration.

Candidates for this position have exceled in all areas of the Account Manager role, as have also consistently demonstrated strong leadership qualities. They understand the importance of providing a high level of service, both internally and externally, as well take pride in the growth of team members knowledge and skillset.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Senior-Level Account Management:
  • Partner with Sales on incoming RFPs and upfront digital proposals for key accounts/initiatives, to ensure we are meeting client objectives - collaborate with various cross-company teams to develop best advertising solutions as needed
  • Successfully manage and support key accounts/initiatives by providing a high level of customer service to clients with effective communication, timely responses to requests and proactive resolution of potential issues
  • Develop and revise media plans with existing accounts by analyzing historical data on customer spending, as well as considerations of client objectives, timing, product offerings, product performance and inventory availability
  • Independently manage all post-sale online advertising activity to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved and to prevent under-delivery - this includes booking, trafficking, delivery reporting, optimizations and assistance in resolution of billing discrepancies
  • Project management of internal creative builds and sponsorship/custom programs - working as a liaison between client/creative agency and internal teams towards successful execution
  • Ensure effective communication with sales teams to understand and anticipate customer needs, and ensure that advertising solutions meet those needs while setting internal and external expectations
  • Fluency in USA TODAY's digital value proposition, and be an expert on digital products and their executions

TEAM LEADERSHIP:

  • Support team manager by helping maintain internal documentation and provide input on processes and workflows. Team lead will also provide coverage if manager is out of office
  • Assist management with hiring processes and new hire training
  • Review and approve team media plans/order entry
  • Demonstrate consistent leadership within the team by behavior, initiative, etc.
  • Engage with team members to identify areas for improvement/efficiencies in process, deliverables, systems and work with appropriate internal teams towards solution
  • Provide training and coaching to team members in the following areas
  • USAT's value proposition and our digital products and processes
  • Strategic media plan development
  • Internal systems (order entry, reporting, resources)
  • Setting up complex programs for success
  • Campaign performance and optimizations
  • Reporting & analytics
  • Upselling and driving incremental revenue
  • Post Mortem goals

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Experience with Excel with strong analytical skills: must have a demonstrated track record of excellence in analytics, either via past work experience and / or successful completion of analytic coursework
  • Strong leadership, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills with a focus on quality assurance and process improvement
  • A team player, willing and able to collaborate with a diverse and dynamic team
  • Ability to work under pressure, organize and prioritize responsibilities and requests
  • Professional maturity, integrity, discipline and a positive attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and take initiative to solve problems
  • Extensive working experience with online media sales and responding to RFPs in collaboration with others
  • Experience working with research, sales and operations to execute solutions
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressured, dynamic environment, with tight deadlines

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College education
  • 5-7 years working experience in digital media advertising
  • 5-7 years previous work experience working with sales personnel
  • Skills: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint), CRM or Order Management/Workflow systems experience a plus

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $51,000and $94,500. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable.
