How you'll make an impact
The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the accounts payable department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices. This role is critical in maintaining strong internal relationships and ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable department, including invoice processing.
- Develop, implement, and maintain procedures and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines and improve efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor accounts payable staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Assist in the development and implementation of global accounts payable-related projects and initiatives, including divisional transitions to the centralized payables process.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and address any issues related to accounts payable.
- Analyze accounts payable coding to ensure consistency between divisions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including audit requirements.
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounts payable processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
About You
Required:
- Associate's degree and 5 years of related experience required.
- Requires some functional and industry experience and/or expertise.
Preferred:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
