The purpose of this role, through active account management, is to limit the company’s exposure to bad debt. This role holder will work within a team of Credit Controllers to meet monthly debt reduction targets and reduce debtor days. Reporting into (and receiving daily support from) the Credit Control Team Leader and AR Manager, you will have full end to end ownership on a mixed currency ledger and include Key Accounts. Building excellent relationships with both your internal and external customers is paramount in the success of this role.
 
What You’ll Do:
  • Daily allocation of payments in a timely manner.
  • reconciling EMEA ledger.
  • Allocating of credits where applicable.
  • Dealing with daily queries, i.e., copy invoices and POD's.
  • Manage release of orders to balance credit risk vs supporting business growth.
  • Ensuring invoices are uploaded in a timely manner to assist with cashflow.
  • Reconcile chargebacks and forward all necessary credits for approval.
  • Liaising with departments internally.
  • Weekly statements to customers.
  • Reducing bad debt on ledger.
  • Upload of EDI (where applicable).
  • Ensuring timely payments from customers.
  • Daily contact via email, portal, and telephone with customers.
  • Following internal processes and controls (SOX Compliance).
  • Chasing overdue debt.
  • Updating systems and shared spreadsheets.
  • Taking payments over the phone from customers.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.

What You’ll Bring:  
  • Experience working in Credit Control, ideally within an FMCG industry.
  • Experience with the Amazon Central Supplier system an advantage.
  • Excellent IT skills including intermediate Excel.
  • Experience of an EMEA ledger.
  • EDI experience.
  • Experience in working towards targets.
  • Open to change and new ways of working.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Takes prompt actions to deliver results and support the team when required.
