Job Description

As a backend engineer at Fundbox, you will develop new core components of our product. You will architect and implement complex services, such as online credit functionality, new Fundbox APIs, marketing and analytics tools, and much more. Our engineering team cares deeply about the speed, quality, and ease of our work, so we constantly strive to improve it by practicing continuous deployment, code reviews and automating everything.

In this role, you will



  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable backend systems and APIs in a microservices architecture.

  • Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth, automated deployments and fast iteration cycles.

  • Collaborate closely with DevOps and product teams to integrate and streamline deployment processes.

  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of backend systems.

  • Write and maintain clean, scalable, and efficient code.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve backend performance and stability issues in production.


You should have



  • At least 5 years of backend development experience using technologies such as Python, Java, .NET or similar

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) 

  • Strong understanding of database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and API design principles (REST, GraphQL).

  • Experienced with micro-services architecture

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

  • Good understanding of security best practices in software development.

  • Advantages:


    • Experience in AWS

    • Work with Offshore units (Engineering/Product/ Business etc)

    • Previous Fintech experience

Compensation & Benefits


We anticipate the NY base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000 - $175,000. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the amount the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors (i.e. job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training). The compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only and do not include any bonuses, equity, or benefits.
