Job DescriptionRole: Head of Product Pricing & Packaging
As the Head of Product Pricing & Packaging, you will directly lead a talented team and influence other cross-functional teams to ensure optimal product pricing and positioning. In this role, you will partner with Product / BU leaders, finance, and sales operations teams to deliver on pricing and packaging strategies. The Head of Pricing & Packaging will report into the SVP Product Strategy & Operations. As a leader at Freshworks, you thrive equally when leading teams, or directly leading work yourself.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the monetization strategy, packaging, commercial structures and pricing for all Freshworks products
- Ensures the organization is able to set, implement, and execute the optimal market price for a broad portfolio of products. Their approach will account for external factors such as customer and competitor behavior, market/consumer trends as well as internal factors such as costs, processes, and information technology to help create pricing/packaging for maximum profitability.
- Leverage a pricing strategy that is able to support high conversion rates from free trial sign ups to paid customers
- Build commercial incentives, programs, offers and promotions across all GTM motions
- Evaluate, implement new business models to increase new sales volume and penetration (markets, industries), and increase existing customer wallet-share and penetration
- Develop sophisticated pricing analytics to measure true customer and product line profitability (ASP, discounting trends, etc.), and enable salespeople with insights to accelerate growth
- Drive market intelligence efforts in partnership with key stakeholders from marketing, customer success, and sales
- Define the key market segments, pricing strategy, revenue projections, product roadmap and technical priorities, new product introduction, enterprise risk management and deprecation of products
- Be the primary go-to resource for all matters relating to the core engine of Pricing and Promotion, and articulation of how this capability is used throughout the company
- Be a product leader that can develop those around you, regardless of whether they to raise the caliber of product signal throughout the org
- Influence stakeholders for cross organization alignment and collaboration for key pricing and packaging strategies and priorities
- Work across product teams to establish processes that improve discovery, decision making, and shared accountability
- Review and bring about practices that help teams perform better, deliver with improved product velocity and quality and acquire, retain and maintain happy customers
- 15+ years of product management and/or strategic planning experience in software
- 6+ years of direct people management experience
- 5+ years of experience of working pricing and packing domain
- Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels across the business
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related business discipline
- Having a Masters in Business Administration is an added advantage
- Must have the ability to influence people at the business unit level
- Must have the ability to understand the technical and non-technical aspects of product development
- Experience developing technology solutions in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
