This position constitutes an integral part of the Business Technology Office within the Investments and Capital Markets division. This job presents a valuable opportunity to work with a dynamic team that engages closely with one of critical Freddie Mac's business, with a niche focus on sourcing, pricing, and securitizing loans.

As the Technology Director, you will be instrumental in shaping the technological direction of our organization while ensuring seamless collaboration between businesses divisions. You will serve as a champion for technological excellence, providing hands-on guidance, and architectural leadership to our team of developers.

Your impact:

  • Be a leader and a champion in aligning with two business divisions to ensure initiative, projects, work, and operations are prioritized and aligned.
  • Lead and inspire a team of talented developers, setting the standard for excellence in hands-on Java development and maintaining best practices and standards.
  • Architect systems by defining clear architecture and design principles, and updating existing architecture as needed to ensure scalability and performance.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, promoting a" Shift Left" on Code and Data Quality.
  • Possess expertise in either:
    • Strong understanding of Mortgage business or Secondary Mortgage industry.
    • Solid experience in developing live streaming market data services, including MBS, Treasury, SWAP, and other Market curves & feeds.
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership skill, including effective communication, strategic decision making, and the ability to align priorities with management and stakeholder.

Qualifications:

  • 12-15 + years of software development and technology leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with focus on collaboration, innovation and driving results. Should possess clear communication both written and oral.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in Java development, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
  • Should demonstrate a strong grasp of fundamental computer science concepts and principles, including a comprehensive understanding of how production applications function within the financial industry.
  • Strong architectural skills with the ability to design and maintain complex system. Should write or update architecture documents.
  • Deep understanding of either Mortgage business or Secondary Mortgage industry OR experience in developing live streaming market data services.
  • Proficiency in AWS Cloud technologies like EKS, ElastiCache, AMQ, Aurora Postgres etc..

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $194,000 - $290,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
