Position Overview:

The EO&T Global Operations Unix Team is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator. The candidate will be primarily responsible for providing 24x7 Unix administration support, including configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Unix servers in both production and non-production environments. The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills. They should be able to represent the team with a high level of professionalism when interacting with our service and business partners, providing solutions and resolving issues.

Our Impact:

The Global Operations Unix team is tasked with ensuring the operational stability of both production and non-production Unix platforms. Our primary objective is to maintain a stable and healthy environment, delivering measurable performance metrics that benefit the firm and its customers.

Your Impact:

In this role, you will be a key member of the Global Operations Unix team within the Platform and Infrastructure Services group. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrating excellent knowledge and experience with the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system, including system configuration and administration.
  • Addressing production-related issues by providing innovative, thorough, and practical solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
  • Identifying, analyzing, fixing, and determining the root cause of issues, as well as coordinating changes to resolve complex problems involving hardware, software, networking, and applications.
  • Quickly restoring service during system outages, providing troubleshooting support to team members, performing proactive problem prevention, and escalating technical details to the technical lead or vendor support.
  • Writing technical documentation, operational procedures, systems documentation, and incident and problem communications and reports.
  • Vetting changes for accuracy and risk based on policy and governance.
  • Leveraging automated processes where possible to reduce manual intervention in repetitive tasks.
  • Administering Unix servers 24/7, participating in on-call rotation and weekend activities.

Qualifications:

  • A STEM/BS or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field, with 7-8 years or 10-15 years of relevant experience.
  • Candidates with 2-5 years of experience in RHEL, AWS, IBM GPFS, BladeLogic, or Ansible are highly sought after.
  • Proficiency in UNIX server hardware and software problem determination, capacity planning, and root cause analysis.
  • Practical experience in designing and implementing systems across various technologies.
  • Experience with scripting tools to automate routine operational tasks.
  • Expert knowledge in technical project management, project implementation, and infrastructure support.
  • Advanced communication skills and experience leading teams in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Ability to assess new third-party technologies and internal customizations.
  • Proficiency in documenting solutions and writing standard operating procedures (SOPs).

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $107,000 - $161,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
