Position Overview:
Freddie Mac's Finance division is seeking a Senior Liquidity & Financial Market Risk Analyst to be part of the Investments and Capital Markets Finance department! The candidate will be responsible for supporting the Treasury & Liquidity functions within the Capital Markets business. Our team is responsible for executing the firm's Cash Flow Forecasting processes and producing liquidity & debt funding analytics to support liquidity risk management.

- The Investments and Capital Markets Finance department is responsible for financial accounting and reporting, portfolio risk and profitability analysis, pricing and valuation activities, and financial planning & analysis for Freddie Mac's Capital Markets activities
- Our team helps ensure our liquidity metrics adhere to Management, Board, and FHFA Limits through our daily reporting
- We partner and build relationships with the Capital Markets Treasury and Liquidity trading desks to understand their needs and provide reporting and analysis to support their roles
- The team produces daily and monthly analytics, including reporting on risk exposure, treasury activity and P&L
- The team calculates and allocates Funds Transfer Pricing to applicable business units to support decision making
- We create funding forecasts used to project the comprehensive income of the firm under various scenarios, including the annual Dodd-Frank Act Stress Test (DFAST)
- The team interacts with technology partners and drives continuous enhancements to our processes
Your Impact:
In this role, you will be an integral part of managing the firm's liquidity risk, and will be expected to add value by developing enhanced analytics and reporting.
- Collaborate with the Asset & Liability Management trading desk (Treasury and Liquidity functions) to support better business decision making
- Enhance our current reporting and analytics to ensure proper risk management
- Lead ad hoc business analysis in response to changes in market conditions, regulations, business/capital strategy
- Improve scenario analysis related to the firm's Cash Flow Forecasting and liquidity metric processes to proactively manage liquidity and balance sheet risk
- Aid in developing new Funds Transfer Pricing methodologies to accurately allocate funding and hedging costs across different products
- Build framework to support the ongoing analysis related to explaining and forecasting product level P&L
- Analyzing the sensitivity of financial results to interest-rate and funding spread changes and other market factors
- Preparing presentations delivered to senior management, the Board of Directors, and FHFA
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fixed income, mortgage or financial services, and/or financial analysis
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related degree
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and aptitude to learn other software (i.e. Tableau, SQL)
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to multi-task and provide analysis under tight deadlines
Keys to Success in this Role:
This role requires heavy critical thinking and the ability to independently develop new analytics and enhancements to support the business. To be successful, it requires a passion for constant learning and ability to translate data and knowledge into actionable items. Possessing good technical aptitude to work with trade and position data and build summary analysis.
The team operates in a fast-paced environment so a successful candidate will be able to balance multiple competing tasks and adhere to short deadlines. Given the analytical nature of the role, the candidate is encouraged to take high level requests or objectives and have the capability to independently determine what is required to build or produce the analysis. A fundamental understanding of fixed income fundamentals and calculations (i.e. mortgage-backed securities, interest-rate derivatives, corporate debt) will be required to be effective in the role.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $104,000 - $156,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
