SimCorp Dimension Senior Business Analyst (Hybrid - 3 Days in Office)

Position Overview:

The Investment & Capital Markets (ICM) department in Finance is seeking a highly motivated hands-on Senior Business Analysis to join our SimCorp Application Support Team. In this role, the individual will support business as usual (BAU), change management, user access testing (UAT) and business management activities across ICM Finance.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience using SimCorp Dimension (SCD) to identify and solve for challenges in both BAU and UAT. This position will involve partnering effectively with various business and IT partners and will require solid communication skills, ability to build relationships and drive a consistent agenda. We are seeking someone who is a "self-starter" with a desire to understand accounting concepts and a passion for change management.

Our Impact:

Our team is responsible for supporting Freddie Mac's accounting book of reference (ABOR) and investment book of records (IBOR) platform for Fixed Income, Exchange Traded and over the counter (OTC) Derivatives. Our goal is to collaborate with our key partners within the ICM Division to support their business requirements and help lead change throughout all aspects of the Front to Back Office trade lifecycle.

Your Impact:

Your Impact Falls into Three Primary Categories:

Application Support

  • Handle SimCorp Dimension enhancements, break-fixes, and small projects in both BAU and UAT independently and as part of the team with internal and external partners
  • Demonstrate ownership of problems, issues, or requests from start to finish. Facilitate appropriate handoffs, but track the item through resolution. Raise proposed or actual solutions that do not adequately resolve the problem or satisfy the stated need.
  • Work independently while driving and managing assignments from concept through deployment/launch

Project Management / Collaboration

  • Interact and communicate effectively with business and IT partners to solve issues or business challenges
  • Work with project teams and partners to ensure that business requirements gaps or issues are resolved in a transparent and timely manner
  • Work with different teams to find opportunities for efficiency in project planning and execution to provide the business with solutions at the lowest cost while balancing risk appropriately
  • Work with business partners to document and understand requirement needs and challenge the team to build inspiring solutions
  • Be a liaison between the business area customer/user, testing groups and development groups to ensure that scope items for a release are accurately implemented and tested from the business perspective

Analytics

  • Demonstrate mortgage experience to ensure that functional requirements / use cases are fully developed, communicated and understood
  • Solve complex business issues by putting pieces together and understanding how our systems work

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of business analysis and SCD experience in the mortgage industry, with a strong understanding of Fixed Income products and Interest Rate Derivatives
  • Understanding of SCD FAP/FAM configurations, Portfolio Calculation, and Message Queues
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience; advanced studies/degree preferred
  • Proven knowledge of strategic planning and execution, project management, and best practices implementation
  • Experience in the primary/secondary mortgage market, preferably underwriting and/or credit analytics
  • Ability to rapidly learn key business design concepts of given project being developed and internal project tools and project management methodology / related processes
  • Ability to support multiple concurrent high priority projects in various capacities (i.e., lead one or more projects while supporting one or more projects)
  • Ability to analyze, document, develop and manage complex business processes, think analytically and solve problems
  • Ability to work collaboratively with key internal partners, external customers, external partners and matrixed teams
  • Project management experience using standard project management tools; collecting, writing and maintaining business requirements; maintaining action item trackers, issue and risks logs; managing budgets and reporting and facilitation of effective project team meetings; ability to work as an influence
  • Strong accounting background with general ledger/subledger expertise a plus
  • SCD Data Warehouse experience a plus

  • Solid understanding and expertise with SimCorp Dimension
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to develop and deliver presentations to multiple types of audiences and ability to interact cross-functionally and drive both business and technical discussions
  • Self-starter / independent thinker: demonstrated ambition to take on new roles with growing responsibility with limited guidance and direction from management
  • Strong business analysis skills and experience with agile / waterfall methodologies
  • Proven track record of driven, results-oriented, creative and nimble problem-solving capabilities and a willingness to do "whatever it takes" to deliver business value quickly

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $100,000 - $150,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
