Senior Legal Analyst/Paralegal - Multifamily Real Estate (Hybrid - 3 days in office - VA)

Position Overview:

As a member of our Multifamily Real Estate (MFRE) Department of the Legal Division, you will support attorneys and other senior level legal professionals with the preparation of documents, research, review and analysis of due diligence, and special projects.

Our Impact:

The MFRE Department provides legal counsel and execution support for all aspects of the Multifamily business, from production/origination of new loans through servicing and asset management. The department also provides counsel to the business for maintenance of the Multifamily Seller/Servicer Guide and Multifamily form loan documents, Multifamily securitizations, support of related company and Federal Housing Finance Agency initiatives, and affordable and equitable housing transactions.

Your Impact:

  • Under the supervision of an attorney, prepare multifamily real estate transactional and asset management/loan servicing legal documents, including non-standard documents
  • Review and analyze commercial real estate due diligence, including title policies, surveys, litigation searches, ground leases, subordinate debt, regulatory agreements, and other documents of records
  • Support various legal special projects and initiatives, often requiring collaboration with multiple partners and subject matter experts
  • Conduct research to support legal and business decisions
  • Build and manage databases

Qualifications:

  • 5-7+ years' related experience at mid to large law firm or corporate legal department
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience in reviewing and analyzing commercial real estate due diligence
  • Title and survey expertise
  • Demonstrated success as an individual contributor
  • Collaborator with outstanding decision-making skills, tact, and discretion
  • Strong time management skills - can balance multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Legal Project Management (LPM) experience preferred
  • Familiarity and proficiency with technology (including internet applications, all Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, and database management)
  • Experience with SharePoint and a document management system preferred
  • Able to work overtime as needed

  • Outstanding attention to detail and a dedication to delivering quality and accurate work product, on time and consistent with standard templates and processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships within Freddie Mac and with external customers

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $90,000 - $136,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
