Position Overview:
This position is part of the Single-Family Acquisitions Credit Risk Management department and supports the Vice President, Collateral Risk Management. The Senior Director will develop and drive appropriate collateral risk management strategies. Collateral strategies include, but are not limited to assessing property's value, condition and marketability and align with Freddie Mac's priorities to deliver on our Affordable Mission, Manage Risk, Develop Talent and Build Financial Strength.

Initial focus will include understanding Freddie Mac's use of collateral models such as our automated valuation model. This leader will collaborate with key partners to establish appropriate processes, communications and controls that support Model Business Owners in compliance with new standards and policies.
The role will lead efforts to collaborate with other areas including business users (collateral policy and valuation team), modeling team of statisticians and economists, implementation teams, oversight groups, Fair Lending, and our regulator (FHFA).

The Single-Family Credit Risk Management proactively assesses and mitigates credit risk to achieve our mission while maintaining a prudent risk profile. Your Impact:
- Support the VP in establishing and driving appropriate collateral risk strategy in alignment of Division and Enterprise strategy.
- Drive collaboration across collateral policy and valuations innovation, condo/coop policy and innovation, property insurance and climate risk teams to ensure appropriate monitoring and escalation of emerging risks and development and execution of timely and applicable response strategies.
- Initial focus will be to oversee the development and execution of the collateral model strategy and business use for Single-Family. This includes leading efforts to coordinate with key areas of the collateral modeling community to help ensure appropriate model risk management through a structured and disciplined approach in model development, testing, implementation and business use.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, with 15+ years of overall relevant experience, with 8+ years of management experience
- MBA in Finance, Business, related quantitative field or equivalent experience
- 10+years of experience, ideally in Collateral Risk Management and operating at or near the executive level
- 10+ years of experience in primary mortgage lending or with organizations providing mortgage lending products/services
- 10 years of deep understanding of automated valuation models and appraisals
- Experience in researching and developing collateral policy preferred
- Strong knowledge and experience with strategic use of models to drive business decisions across risk and profitability
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse group of partners
- Ability to translate analytics into simple concepts for communicating with senior management audience
- Empower and inspire action through interpersonal skills
- Proven record of effective leadership, including the ability to balance team and individual responsibilities; build teams and consensus while working ethically and with integrity

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $208,000 - $312,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
