Position Overview:

Responsible for handling controls with respect to risk to the firm's financial statements by ensuring that adequate controls, risk reporting and analysis are in place. Role will work closely with divisional management to identify and implement the vital risk control requirements. Development and preparation of timely, accurate and effective risk control analysis and operational procedures is key. Provides resolutions to an extensive range of complicated problems with solutions that are innovative, detailed, and practicable. Works under limited direction to independently determine and develop approach to solutions. Represents the organization as the principal customer contact on contracts and often performs project leadership role. Interacts with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters frequently requiring coordination across organizational lines.

Our Impact:

The I&CM CFO department is responsible for financial accounting and reporting, portfolio risk and profitability analysis, pricing and valuation activities, and financial planning & analysis for Freddie Mac's Capital Markets segment. The candidate will perform critical review of changes supporting the financial models and systems creating the financial results.

Your Impact:

In this role, you will play an integral part supporting the change management standards across I&CM CFO department. As a member of the Financial Reporting and Governance team, you will be responsible for the execution of change management and model change standards, ensuring all artifacts for systems are complete and accurate, communicate divisional changes to Segment Controllers, and track all future changes. You will also be tasked with the governance portion of SOX applications, collaborating across departments to communicate changes, and provide project management assistance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of business analysis experience or relatable audit experience in the mortgage industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience; advanced studies/degree preferred.
  • Ability to rapidly learn key business design concepts of given project being developed, internal project tools and project management methodology / related processes.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Governance web-based Applications (Service Now, Appian, BWise, Jira).
  • Work experience in an audit department testing automated controls and wrote findings.
  • Mortgage Industry or Financial Services experience preferred
  • Ability to support concurrent high priority projects in several capacities (i.e., lead one or more projects while supporting one or more projects)
  • Ability to analyze, document, develop and handle complex business processes, think analytically, and tackle problems
  • Proven experience as a person who is highly meticulous with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Project management experience using standard project management tools; collecting, writing, and maintaining business requirements; maintaining action item trackers, issue and risks logs; handling budgets and reporting and facilitation of effective project team meetings; ability to work as an influencer

  • Self-starter / independent thinker: demonstrated ambition to take on new roles with growing responsibility with limited guidance and direction from management
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, constantly evolving business environment and handle several tasks. Curious and confident to learn new software.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Word

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $96,000 - $144,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
