Position Overview:

The Single-Family Crisis Response and Cyber Risk team is seeking a highly motivated Operational Risk, Senior that thrives on cybersecurity policy and risk management. The candidate will help foster a collaborative crisis response and cybersecurity risk culture across the team. Working to strengthen cybersecurity governance and accountability. Designing processes to increase visibility and controls and reducing risks. Partnering with stakeholders to align and implement standards and strengthen preparedness capabilities.

Your Impact:

  • Create programs that advance preparedness, response, and cyber risk management.
  • Establish processes to ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements. (e.g., NIST, ISO)
  • Share your knowledge of cybersecurity risk, trends, industry guidance, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Collaborate on cyber-related operational events to reduce risks and understand root causes.
  • Support incidents, escalations, and crises and assist with recovery methods.
  • Implement proactive strategies to safeguard against potential risks, and align with business objectives
  • Help define and evaluate cybersecurity risk metrics and implement process improvements.
  • Foster a culture of information security awareness and accountability.
  • Analyze technology related incident escalations that impact Single-Family business processes and assess impacts and potential risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7 years of professional experience (operational risk, process management, audit experience, crisis management)
  • Understanding of cybersecurity risk and management practices at large financial services institutions, technology companies, or government agencies.
  • Detailed, analytical, and possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand and work with a diverse group of business and technology partners
  • Self-motivated, pro-active, problem solver with the capability of managing multiple priorities.
  • Capable of working independently and within a collaborative team environment
  • Strong skills within the MS Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint.

Keys to Success in this Role:

  • Cybersecurity policy, operations, response, and/or audit experience
  • Knowledge of the primary and secondary mortgage markets
  • Experience with ServiceNow or other related governance, risk and compliance tools
  • Knowledge of incident management, crisis management, and cybersecurity policy
  • Ability to manage and transform ambiguous and stressful situations into positive outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a team-orientated collaborative environment
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Curious mindset with a willingness to learn and grow

Freddie Mac offers a comprehensive total rewards package to include competitive compensation and market-leading benefit programs. Information on these benefit programs is available on our Careers site.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $94,000 - $142,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
