Our Impact:
The Legal Division provides proactive, timely and cost-efficient legal advice adaptable to client needs on all legal matters affecting Freddie Mac.
The Operational Risk Professional for the Legal division will help establish and execute on procedures to confirm that the division's Risk and Control Self-Assessments ("RCSAs") are updated regularly and performs control testing as necessary. Confirms compliance with operational risk-related reporting requirements external to the division. Stakeholder Engagement: Leadership takes ownership for the divisional operational risk program and communicates succinctly and successfully with senior management on the division's operational risk framework, goals, issues, action plans and assessments. Provides regular updates to key stakeholders on the division's operational risk posture and recommendations for improvement. Prepares necessary information to facilitate management discussions and decision making. Communicate with stakeholders at all levels across the division to achieve effective communication and enable stakeholder input and consensus. A self-starter with a "can-do‟ attitude; a driver and implementer who possesses the poise and ability to act calmly and competently in fast paced environment.
Your Impact:
- Coordinate implementation of requirements, policies, and standards
- Participate and drive risk reviews and deep dives of risk
- Identify deficiencies in the control design and operating efficiency
- Lead process owner discussions and engagements as SME
- Support operational risk lead in conducting analysis and engage with internal partners
- Engage with the 2nd Line of Defense as needed
- Support privacy risk management for the department
- Participate in and contribute to internal working groups and meet commitments
- Other risk, reporting, and project support as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant work experience in operational risk, compliance, or internal audit departments at banks, large financial institutions, or large consulting/assurance firms
- Leadership skills in engaging and influencing change
- Proficient with MS office particularly excel and PowerPoint
- Detail oriented and strong organizational skills

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $73,000 - $109,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
