Our Impact:

This Senior Manager will provide independent oversight of Freddie Mac Divisions, driving the following outcomes:

  • Oversee and govern Operational Risks to provide review and challenge that risks are identified, measured, monitored, controlled and operating within established tolerances, through a robust monitoring framework
  • Aggregate independent views of Operational Risk with forward looking outlook that is data driven and fact based
  • Robust relationships across the front line, with focus in Single Family, and viewed as a trusted "go to" partner

Your Impact:

  • Review and challenge Divisional Operational Risk Profile to highlight ERM's independent views of Operational Risk, key drivers, trends, future outlook, points of escalation and differences of risk opinion. Coordinate across all non-financial risk domains to bring perspectives together.
  • Build positive relationships with the 1LOD to discuss risk outcomes and as necessary, effective challenges, to be actioned by first line.
  • Execute the governance routines to review operational risks, effective challenges and emerging risks, to determine if warrants escalation to the Operational Risk Committee.
  • Implement and manage processes, procedures and/or tools that support the execution of the operational risk oversight routines.
  • Monitor activities that will become inputs into the quarterly profile reporting for Divisions, highlighting significant operational risks, including emerging risks, effective challenges and first line risk management strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or relevant work experience) and 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: operational/compliance risk management
  • Experience with influencing others, including at the executive level, and bringing people together towards a common goal
  • Experience in process design and assessment of controls
  • Experience in the secondary mortgage market is preferred
  • Experience or knowledge of mortgage lending and or mortgage related securities is preferred
  • Highly driven, results oriented and considered a "value partner;" proactively building and leveraging relationships internally and externally
  • Ability to problem solve and articulate complex concepts

  • Strong ability to apply data to advise on risk perspectives with intellectual agility and interpersonal flexibility.
  • Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; interacting with all levels of the organization including visualizations.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $149,000 - $223,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
