The Operational Risk team within Single-Family 's Portfolio and Servicing (SFPS) division has an opening for an Operational Risk Manager, reporting to the Director, Operational Risk and Governance. This dynamic and highly collaborative team implements and provides oversight and risk governance across SFPS and in line with Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) expectations. This team plays a meaningful role in supporting operational risk and controls, change management, business resiliency, crisis response and cyber risk, as well as Division Risk Officer (DRO) activities. Our Impact:

The SFPS Operational Risk and Governance team is responsible for working with leadership to effectively manage operational and technology risks, as well as the activities and requirements of the DRO.

Your Impact:

The ideal candidate is an accomplished and motivated professional with excellent organizational, written and verbal communication, and relationship management skills. This individual will have prior experience in operational and technology risk and program/project management. The ability to partner with and influence key partners is a must.

  • Manage a portfolio of significant projects, including change management, new initiatives, policies, procedures, and controls
  • Maintain oversight and stays current of all elements of assignments (e.g., objectives, status, milestones, staff/resources, etc.), as well as cross project and/or team dependencies
  • Lead and ensure adherence to attestation process and delegations of authority across SFPS division
  • Manage Annual Records Review (ARR) process, engaging with and providing guidance to senior leaders and business area stakeholders on retention schedules, legal hold requirements, and document classifications
  • Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that impact the organization's operation
  • Manage activities and lead cooperative efforts among members of a project team
  • Performs issue oversight including evaluating issue action plans and monitoring issue milestone status
  • Follows operational risk frameworks and programs
  • Provides risk and control advisory support
  • Participates in operational risk-related projects that impact the SFPS division

Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience; advanced studies/degree preferred
  • 8-10 years of relative experience and 2+ years of management experience
  • Prior experience in the financial services industry (experience in operational risk management and/or information risk a plus)
  • Ability to understand the expectations of the DRO and operational risk governance team, including management objectives, risk appetite and tolerances, and impact of changes to risk profiles associated with operations, governance, and technology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide influence, facilitate group discussions, and resolve conflict
  • Program/Project management experience
  • Positive relationship management skills that cultivate and preserve effective networks
  • Proven problem-solving, quantitative, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Relevant professional certifications (CPA, CISA, CIA, Six Sigma, etc.) are a plus, but not required

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $126,000 - $190,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
