The Surveillance Team within the Asset Management and Operations Department of Multifamily is responsible for detecting and managing property related credit, regulatory, and reputational risk to Freddie Mac that comes from loans or bonds in Freddie Mac Multifamily's investment, transitional, or specially serviced portfolio. Our team works closely with multiple groups within Freddie Mac Multifamily, our Optigo customer network, and the US Multifamily industry in general. Through our inspections, technical assistance and evaluation of property condition, environmental and construction risks of an asset, we support credit, investment and portfolio decisions.
Your Impact:
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Performing inspections of multifamily properties to evaluate current conditions, management quality and identify risks related to property conditions, deferred maintenance, life safety and health concerns
- Delivering summary reports of property inspections and providing supported recommendations based on findings
- Analyzing servicer and third-party property inspections for quality control and risk determination to improve performance and consistency
- Driving completion of recommended action plans to address risks identified in inspections and quality control reviews
- Establishing a feedback loop with Underwriting, Asset Management and servicers regarding inspection and third-party report issues
- Creating and delivering training to Multifamily staff and Optigo lenders on inspections and other Physical Risk related topics
- Communicating effectively with internal customers, Optigo Lenders, Servicers and third-party vendors
- Completing other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of related experience with a preference for property inspections and commercial real estate asset management and apartment operations
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience combination of education and experience in Real Estate, Architecture, Real Estate, Engineering, or other related fields.
- Demonstrated project management experience with success meeting and delivering specific and measurable due dates and goals
- Experience building and maintaining strong partnerships with internal and external customers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and be self-directed as well as strong organizational skills
Keys to Success in this Role:
- Experience with multifamily property inspections and operations
- Knowledge of construction/development process, engineering and architecture
- Ability to meet customer needs while navigating various levels of conflicting interests
- Excellent customer service while managing a large volume of requests
- Basic understanding of securitized lending structures such as CMBS, and the parties and roles within those structures

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $118,000 - $178,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
