Position Overview:

Risk Distribution and Credit is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its team in focusing on the presentation quality and credit assessment of loans originated for Freddie Mac's Multifamily securitization platform. The hired candidate will lead a deal team in evaluating loans for credit risk through the review of I&E/cash flow and rent roll analysis, third party reports, loan structure, borrower credit worthiness, market analysis, asset quality, and final loan documents. Loan production is nationwide and spans multiple multifamily sub-types including student, seniors, and affordable housing.

Our Impact:

  • The RDC Team is responsible for credit and underwriting analysis and the creation of Asset Summary Reports.
  • Support the Securitization due diligence process by representing the Freddie Mac credit perspective to our external stakeholders, investors and rating agencies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, Capital Markets, Underwriting, Production, Asset Management, and Legal, to validate and update pertinent loan information.
  • Create and maintain credit reporting documents, including securitization feedback, and trend analyses distributed to Senior Management and across the Multifamily Division.
  • Review and provide the MF SVP Credit & Underwriting recommendations for credit approvals.

Your Impact:

  • Evaluate loans for credit risk through the review of I&E/cash flow and rent roll analysis, third party reports, loan structure, borrower credit worthiness, market analysis, asset quality, and final loan documents.
  • Lead deals managing the securitization due diligence process as the main RDC point of contact with internal stakeholders. Drive deal team execution.
  • Meet critical securitization deadlines in delivering Asset Summary Reports, Rating Agency/Investor Q&A to Capital Markets, and credit concern follow-ups.
  • Effectively communicate Freddie Mac's credit underwriting decisions on investor and rating agency calls.
  • Regional and/or Specialty point of contact for SVP MF Credit & Underwriting credit approvals and questions/concerns related to securitization.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members. Provide direction, review work, and assist in resolving complex credit issues.
  • Lead ad hoc projects and MF Division/RDC initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4+ years of multifamily or commercial underwriting experience
  • Solid understanding of credit risk analysis and mitigation related to leverage, cash flow, rent rolls, third party reports, loan structure, borrower credit worthiness, market analysis and asset quality
  • Understanding of loan documents, purpose and structure
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, interpersonal, organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Keys to Success in this Role:

  • Prior experience with GSE multifamily lending, CMBS, rating agencies, or commercial real estate underwriting
  • Advanced financial modeling skills
  • Proactive and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight timelines prioritizing multiple tasks

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $106,000 - $160,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
