At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you'll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation.

Conducts audit reviews of the organization's financial and operational processes to ensure compliance and standard methodologies. Responsible for the evaluation and monitoring of business / operational risk management, control, and governance practices, with recommendations and resolutions for improvement. Provides detailed feedback/communication to business unit management. May lead specific control initiatives, firm-wide process changes or conduct special investigations. Full use and application of standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.

Freddie Mac's Internal Audit Division focuses on providing independent assurance related to credit, operational, and strategic risks and how those risks are managed at Freddie Mac.

Your Impact:

Internal Audit Division members are highly skilled audit and risk management professionals with a demonstrated ability to provide value added audit and advisory services to Freddie Mac. The team plays a critical role in shaping Freddie Mac's approach to managing credit, operational, and strategic risks by providing independent, objective, and value-added assurance of risk management, governance, and controls.

The Internal Audit Senior will be part of this team and focus primarily on executing end-to-end audits. As part of the "Third Line" the candidate will work closely with risk partners in the "Second Line" and practitioners in the "First Line".

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in risk-based auditing, accounting, or financial analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management Information Systems, or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant or candidate (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) desirable, but not required
  • Banking/financial services industry experience preferred
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment as well as individually
  • Creative and analytical approach in a problem-solving environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Effectively work with and collaborate across the teams, building relationships with partners and inspiring trust

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $87,000 - $131,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
