The Internal Audit Quality Assurance Senior Lead for Freddie Mac's Internal Audit Division (IA) is responsible for performing quality assurance reviews (QAR) and driving key quality improvement initiatives. The Internal Audit Quality Assurance Senior Lead will execute QARs over audits and other IA activities, evaluating for conformance with internal policies and internal auditing professional standards. He/she will report on QAR findings and share results with IA leadership and professional staff.

Your work falls into three primary categories:

1) Execution of Internal Audit Quality Assurance Projects

  • Executes assigned QARs and focused reviews
  • Documents QA work in line with audit documentation standards
  • Drafts quality QA reports and presents results to IA leadership

2) Quality Assurance & Improvement Plan (QAIP) Annual Plan Development & Monitoring

  • Develops, monitors, and reports on QAR plan progress
  • Assists in executing the annual plan and delivering projects timely

3) Identification and Execution of Continuous Improvement Activities

  • Identifies issues and opportunities for continuous improvement that demonstrate insightful analysis and sound audit judgment
  • Provides practical, innovative, and value-added solutions to identified issues
  • Reviews internal and external assessments to identify broad themes or trends
  • Provides training and coaching based on quality assurance findings, trends, and policy changes

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of combined experience in auditing (internal and external) and quality assurance review
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Relevant professional certification required (e.g., CIA, CPA, and/or CISA)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • IT background a plus

  • Excellent critical thinking skills and sound judgment for evaluating IA work quality
  • Solid understanding of Internal Audit and applicable professional standards
  • Effective project management skills

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $140,000 - $210,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
